It's a Wonderful Life (Recommended Movie for Christmas)

Buy "It's a Wonderful Life" Now!

George Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all - and it's Christmas ! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years. Will Clarence be able to convince George to return to his family and forget about suicide ?

This DVD version, struck from the original print, makes it possible for the first time to enter Bedford Falls and fully inhabit its sparkling world. It's like seeing the film for the first time all over again.

The perfect family movie.

RIP: James Kim, CNET Editor

James Kim

James Kim, CNET Senior Editor
1971 - 2006

The body of CNET editor James Kim was found after an extensive search, authorities said Wednesday.

Kim had been lost in remote Oregon wilderness for 11 days after he, his wife Kati, and daughters Penelope and Sabine were lost driving across the state.

According to reports, Kim left the family's Saab car mired in snow and began hiking cross-country, looking for help. The family had left the car's engine running to heat the interior, and the family later burned the car's tires for heat. Kim left pieces of clothing and scraps as a map as a trail for rescuers, who organized a private and public search effort that included state and federal agencies. An effort was also mounted by Kim's family, who hired a helicopter and dropped care packages in the hopes of finding Kim alive.

Kim's wife and daughters were rescued on Monday afternoon.
CNET has dedicated a tribute page to the deceased editor, who also was known as a San Francisco businessman, owning two retail stores in San Francisco with his wife.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

Buy "A Charlie Brown Christmas" Now!

Recently I watched this cartoon in VHS and I found out that I really love it. No matter how childish the cartoon, it's quite entertaning, even though I'm already 23-year-old.

A Charlie Brown Christmas tells a story of Charlie Brown who felt depressed on Chirstmas Day, because nobody likes him and the feastive season is too commercialising.

To cheer him up, Lucy suggest that he be their Director for a Christmas play. Charlie Brown accepts, but it proves to be a frustrating struggle.

When an attempt to restore the proper spirit with a forlorn little fir Christmas tree fails, Linus recite his line from the play, on the birth of Jesus, reminding everyone what the real meaning of Christmas is.

The storyline is very compelling and it awes you the most.
