New "Love" Album from The Beatles

Buy Now!

I saw this new album from the Beatles, called "Love". There are many people who rush to buy the album.

The album is produced by Sir George Martin, the original producer and his son, Giles Martin. They have been working on this project for three years. Using archives and master tapes at the Abbey Road studios in London originally used by The Beatles, they put together songs by a complex mixture of overlaying, dubbing and synchronizing to produce sometimes startlingly new compositions.

There are several tracks that mix two or more songs together. For example: "Penny Lane" with "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Blackbird" with "Yesterday", "Get Back" with "Glass Onion", etc.
You can buy "Love" album the original edition ($12.97) or Special Edition that has both CD and Audio DVD ($19.88).

Consider Safety when Decorating for the Holidays

decorating christmas tree'Tis the Season to Be Safe

(NewsUSA) - Holiday decorations give your home just the right festive touch, but they also pose a fire hazard.

"Unless you deck your tree, halls and walls safely, the season could be memorable for the wrong reasons," said John Drengenberg, manager of consumer affairs at Underwriters Laboratories Inc., a not-for-profit product safety testing and certification organization.

Each year, hospital emergency rooms treat about 12,500 people for injuries related to holiday lights, decorations and Christmas trees. Christmas trees are involved in about 360 fires annually, resulting in 15 deaths, 44 injuries and an average of more than $16.4 million in property damage.

"The leading factor in fires involving Christmas trees, both live and artificial, is placement too close to a heat source," said Judy Comoletti, assistant vice president for public education at the National Fire Protection Association.

UL and the NFPA offer the following safety tips when decorating for the holidays:

* Check your tree for fresh, green needles. Trees that have dried out over several weeks pose a greater fire hazard.

* Keep your tree watered at all times. The tree stand should hold at least 1 gallon of water.

* If you purchase an artificial tree, choose one that is flame-retardant.

* Keep your tree at least 3 feet from fireplaces, radiators, space heaters, heating vents and other sources of heat; don't place the tree where it blocks an exit.

* Use lights and decorations that bear the UL Mark, which means samples of the product have been tested for safety. Light strings with UL's green holographic label are for indoor use only; lights with UL's red holographic label are for either indoor or outdoor use.

* Inspect every electrical decoration before plugging it in. Cracked sockets; frayed, loose or bare wires; and loose connections may cause electric shock or start a fire.

* Check your light strings and packaging to determine the maximum number of strings that may be strung together.

* Don't hang lights with staples or nails that can damage the cord's wire insulation. Use plastic hooks designed for hanging light strings.

* Turn off all electrical light strings and decorations before leaving home or going to bed.

* Keep your Christmas tree no longer than four weeks and take down holiday lights after 90 days of use.

Playstation 3 Makes Its Debut in USA

Free shipping for every 10th buyer who buy it on this blog

Die-hard gamers and entrepreneurs shelled out $500 or more for Sony's PlayStation 3 as the console made its U.S. debut early Friday.

With Sony promising only 400,000 systems for the nationwide launch, the chance of disappointment was high. Many had camped out for days without knowing if they'd be going home empty-handed. While retailers tried to keep expectations low, lines snaked around the block at many stores — even those that weren't going to begin sales until later Friday.

In Palmdale, Calif., authorities shut down a Super Wal-Mart after some shoppers got rowdy late Wednesday. In West Bend, Wis., a 19-year-old man ran into a pole and struck his head racing with 50 others for one of 10 spots outside a Wal-Mart.

Otherwise, many other stores reported calm.

At a Best Buy in Boston with 140 machines for sale, employees simply gave out tickets for the first 140 in line.

At San Francisco's Sony Metreon mall, a "sacred scroll" notebook kept track of the first 505 people in line so they could go to the bathroom or pick up food without losing their spots. Some got wristbands guaranteeing a unit.

There was even a vibrant economy in Mount Laurel, N.J. Restaurants not only delivered pizza and wings, but also dispatched workers to hand out menus. The Dick's Sporting Goods store nearby sold camp chairs and more than a few tents.

Even as retailers drummed up publicity by throwing parties and inviting celebrities, Best Buy Co. Inc., Circuit City Stores Inc. and others warned customers all week that supplies would be tight.

Wal-Mart and Christmas Sales

Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, announced its fourth price-slashing move since mid-October and said that it would have its most aggressive discounting ever this holiday season. Its rival, Target, vowed price cuts, too.

Wal-Mart’s assertive discounting is expected to pressure other retailers to match the cuts, a move that would erode profit margins, though it would save customers money.

And I say, good for the holiday shoppers, probably bad for the other small business retailers. I hope no one get serious hurt in their sales.

Tsunami Expected to Hit Northeastern Japan

I just read this news, and it's very sad...

Tsunami is expected to hit Northern Japan after 8.1 magnitude earthquake. Japan's meteorological agency says an incoming tsunami will be at least 6 1/2 feet high and Pacific coast residents are advised to flee to higher ground.

It's very shocking and I pray that they'll all be safe. Christmas is about one month away, I hope it will be a joyful one this year and it won't be like Tsunami 2004.

Watching poeple celebrate Christmas from different regions of the world, you will come to understand that Christmas is also a day rich in customs and traditions.
For example, in Malaysia, faithful Catholic goes to church to pray, non Christians shop around and witness the tallest christmas tree in Times Square, Kuala Lumpur. Portugese settlement in Malacca celebrate the day with their tradition.
